Focused on something far outside the realm of immediate possibility.
Landing a man on the moon in 1968 is one of the greatest human achievements of all time. A literal moonshot, it revealed what a diverse group of committed people could achieve if they worked together.
Invent entirely new technologies and capabilities never before thought possible.
In 1961, when President John F Kennedy challenged the United States to land a man on the moon before the end of the decade, the challenge was daunting. Many thought it was impossible. No one knew how to do it. But the country committed to figuring it out.
The Space Race in America required innovative thinking, over 400,000 individuals, and brave men and women who, in some cases, were willing to risk their lives to see a bold vision realized. Their hard work and sacrifice changed the world.
Crossroads is also in a race. It's a race to see God save as many people as possible. It's in our DNA, to do anything short of sin to reach our friends and neighbors.
"…our enemy is not flesh and blood. Instead, it is the spiritual forces of evil that rule this world." -Ephesians 6:12
But, by most metrics, the church in America isn't winning. Suicide is rampant, substance abuse is on the rise, and mental health issues are growing at astronomical rates. Current church models aren't changing that narrative.
What we need is an Awakening—a tide-shifting move of God seen at various times in history. Every Awakening has a committed group of people who PUSH past boundaries of the "possible" to witness the impossible: entire cities and nations brought to faith. We will be those people.
To pursue this dream will require a 10X increase in our power and effort over the next 10 years. While 50,000 people connected to Crossroads won't move the needle, 500,000 people can start to flip the stats and see real change.
"On Earth as it is in Heaven." Matthew 6:10
10X in 10Y is our moonshot. It will require Crossroads to innovate and take bold steps. It demands that everyone examine what is holding them back from giving their entire life to God. It doesn't start in buildings, it starts in the heart of every individual willing to say "yes" to God.
Saying yes is both simple and hard. It requires full surrender. It's only at that point where we can truly pray the prayer Jesus taught us in Matthew chapter 6: "...your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is heaven."
